Overview:
Once you have added items to the customer's cart and applied any necessary discounts, the final step is to process their payment and provide a receipt. The Eaglecart POS allows you to seamlessly accept multiple payment types and automatically calculates cash change to prevent errors.
Here is a step-by-step guide to checking out a customer and printing their receipt.
Step 1: Initiate the Checkout
When the customer is ready to pay, review the Current Order panel on the right side of the screen. Ensure the quantities and the Total Amount are correct.
Click the large blue Checkout button at the very bottom right of the screen. (Note: The button will display the final total, such as "Checkout AED 149.96").
Step 2: Select a Payment Method
A Payment pop-up window will appear on your screen showing the TOTAL DUE.
Ask the customer how they would like to pay, and click one of the three options:
Cash
Card (For physical credit/debit card terminal payments)
Credit (If you offer store credit to customer accounts)
Step 3: Processing a Cash Payment
If the customer chooses to pay with Cash, the screen will switch to a built-in number pad. Eaglecart makes calculating change incredibly fast:
Amount Tendered: Use the on-screen number pad to type in the exact amount of cash the customer hands you.
Quick Buttons: To speed things up, you can use the quick-action buttons at the top:
Exact: Click this if the customer gives you the exact change (e.g., 149.96).
Next: Click this if the customer hands you the next highest whole bill (e.g., 150.00).
Change Calculation: The POS will instantly calculate the amount owed back to the customer and display it in red next to Change: (e.g., 0.04).
Click the blue Complete Sale button.
Step 4: Finalize and Print the Receipt
After clicking Complete Sale, the system will confirm the payment was received and the Order Balance will drop to 0.
Click the blue Paid & Print button to finalize the transaction.
A digital receipt will appear on your screen. This receipt contains all important details, including your store address, Date/Time, Sale Reference Number, Staff Name, and an itemized breakdown including VAT.
Click the blue Print button at the top left of the window to send this directly to your connected thermal receipt printer.
