How to Use the POS on Mobile Devices?

Overview:
You don't need a bulky computer or a dedicated cash register to make sales. The Eaglecart POS is fully responsive, meaning it adapts perfectly to the smaller screen of a mobile phone. This is perfect for staff members walking the shop floor, running a pop-up shop, or serving customers on the go.

Here is how to navigate the mobile-friendly version of the POS.


Step 1: Launching the Mobile POS

The easiest way to open the POS on your phone is by scanning the QR code.

  1. Log into your Eaglecart Admin Panel on a computer.

  2. Go to Point of Sale (POS).

  3. Open your mobile phone's camera and point it at the QR Code on the screen.

  4. Tap the link that appears on your phone to instantly launch the POS app in your mobile browser. (You can log in using your Username or PIN).


Step 2: Browsing Products on Mobile

The mobile layout is optimized for touch screens.

  • Search & Categories: The search bar and category bubbles (All, Anklets, Boots, etc.) are located at the very top of your screen. Swipe left and right on the categories to see more.

  • Adding Items: Simply tap on a product card to add it to the customer's cart.

  • The Floating Cart Button: Unlike the desktop version, the cart is hidden to give you more screen space to view products. Look at the bottom right corner of your screen for the blue floating cart button (it will show a shopping cart icon and the number of items you have selected).


Step 3: Managing the Cart and Checkout

Once you have tapped all the products the customer wants to buy, it's time to check out.

  1. Tap the blue floating cart button to open the Current Order screen.

  2. Here, you can review the items. Tap the + or - buttons next to each item to adjust quantities.

  3. If you need to apply a discount, tap the white Discount button near the bottom.

  4. When you are ready, tap the large blue Checkout button at the very bottom of the screen.


Step 4: Processing the Payment

The payment process on mobile is exactly the same as on a desktop, just perfectly sized for your thumbs!

  1. A Payment window will slide up showing the TOTAL DUE.

  2. Tap the customer's payment method (Cash, Card, or Credit).

  3. If they are paying with Cash, use the on-screen number pad to type in the amount handed to you, or use the Exact / Next quick buttons.

  4. Tap Complete Sale.


Step 5: Finalizing the Order

Once the exact amount is entered, the screen will show the Payment Received confirmation and the Order Balance will drop to 0.

Tap the blue Paid & Print button at the bottom to finalize the sale and generate the digital receipt!
