Overview:
To keep your checkout line moving quickly, the Eaglecart POS gives you multiple ways to find products and add them to a customer's order. You can browse by category, type in a manual search, or use a physical barcode scanner to ring up items instantly.
Here is how to find products and build a customer's cart.
Method 1: Browsing by Category
If a customer brings an item to the counter and you want to find it visually:
Look at the top of your POS screen, just below the search bar. You will see category filters (e.g., All, Anklets, Arabian & Modest Wear, Boots, etc.).
Click on the relevant category to filter the product grid.
Click on the product card to instantly add it to the Current Order on the right side of your screen.
Method 2: Manual Search by Name or ID
If you know exactly what you are looking for, the search bar is the fastest way to find it without a scanner.
Click inside the "Search Products..." bar located at the top left of the screen.
Type in the Product Name (e.g., "Cozy Plaid Jacket") or the exact Product ID.
The POS will instantly filter the screen to show only the matching items.
Click the item to add it to the cart.
Method 3: Using a Barcode Scanner
The Eaglecart POS is fully compatible with standard USB or Bluetooth barcode scanners. This is the best method for high-volume stores.
Ensure your physical barcode scanner is connected to your computer, tablet, or POS machine.
Click inside the "Search Products..." bar so your text cursor is blinking inside it.
Scan the barcode on the physical product.
The system will automatically read the barcode, locate the exact item, and add it directly to the Current Order cart.
To scan multiple different items, simply keep your cursor in the search bar and continue scanning!
Managing the Cart (Current Order)
As you select or scan items, they will appear in the Current Order panel on the right side of the screen.
Adjusting Quantity: Use the + or - buttons next to an item in the cart to increase or decrease the quantity.
Removing an Item: Decrease the quantity to zero, or use the exact controls provided in the cart to remove a specific item.
Clearing the Cart: If the customer changes their mind or you make a mistake, click the Clear Cart text at the top right to empty the entire order and start over.
Pro-Tip for Fast Checkout: If a customer is buying 5 of the exact same item, you don't need to scan it 5 times. Just scan it once, then click the "+" button in the cart four times to adjust the quantity!
