Why Enable Tipping?

  • Reward Your Staff: Tips can be a great way to boost morale and directly reward your hard-working team members.

  • Increase Customer Engagement: It gives satisfied customers a simple way to show their support and appreciation.

  • Completely Optional: The feature is designed to be unobtrusive. Customers can easily skip it if they are not interested.

How to Activate Tipping Options

  1. From your Eaglecart admin dashboard, click on Settings in the bottom-left corner.

  2. From the Settings menu, click on Checkout.

  3. Scroll down to the "Tipping" section.

  4. To turn the feature on, check the box next to "Show tipping options at checkout."

Once you check this box, the tipping options will appear for your customers before they complete their payment.

Customizing Your Tipping Settings

Eaglecart gives you full control over the tipping experience.

  1. Set Predefined Tipping Options:
You can set up to three quick-select tip amounts to make it easy for customers. You can set these as either a fixed amount (e.g., 5 AED) or a percentage (e.g., 10%).

    • Predefined 1, 2, 3: Enter the amounts you want to suggest. For example, you could set them to 5 AED, 10 AED, and 15 AED. Customers will also always have the option to enter a custom amount.

  2. Customize the Labels and Description:
You can change the text that appears with the tipping option to match your brand's tone of voice.

    • Tipping label: This is the main title for the section. The default is "Add a tip." You could change it to something like "Show your support" or "Thank your driver."

    • Tipping description: This is a short line of text to encourage tipping. For example: "100% of tips go directly to our hardworking staff."

  3. Hide Tipping Options (Optional):
By default, the tipping options are always visible. You can choose to hide them behind a link by checking the box "Hide tip options until customer chooses to tip." This creates a cleaner look, and customers who want to tip can simply click the "Add a tip" link to reveal the options.

  4. Click the Save button in the top right corner to apply your changes.

Your checkout is now set up to accept tips, providing a great way for your happy customers to show their appreciation.
