We will cover every essential step, from entering the product's name to making it live on your storefront.

Step 1: Navigate to the Products Page

First, we need to get to the starting point where all your products live.

Navigation Path: In your dashboard menu on the left, navigate to Products > Products.

On this page, you'll see a list of all your current products. To begin creating a new one, click the Add product button in the top-right corner.

Step 2: Fill in the Core Product Details

You are now on the "Add product" page. This is where you'll bring your product to life. Let's start with the most important information.

Path: Products > Add Product > (Top Section)

  • Name: This is the title of your product. Make it clear, descriptive, and engaging. This is what customers will see first.

  • Description: Write a compelling description of your product. What are its features and benefits? Use the rich text editor to add formatting like bold text, bullet points, and links to make it easy to read.

  • Media: Visuals are everything! In the Media section, click the + icon to open the Media Manager. Here you can upload high-quality images and videos of your product. The first image you add will be the main "featured" image.

Step 3: Set Your Price

Next, let's set the price and other financial details.

Path: Products > Add Product > Pricing

  • Price: Enter the actual price your customers will pay.

  • Original price (Optional): Use this to show a discount. If you enter a higher price here (e.g., 150), and the "Price" is 100, your storefront will display it as a sale (e.g., 100 150).

  • Cost per item (Optional): For your internal records, enter how much the product costs you. This is never shown to customers but is used to calculate your profit margins automatically.

Step 4: Organize Your Product

Proper organization helps customers find your products and helps you manage your inventory.

Path: Products > Add Product > Product organization (Right-hand Column)

  • Category: Assign your product to a category (e.g., "T-Shirts," "Skincare"). This helps with store navigation and reporting.

  • Vendor: Enter the brand or supplier of the product (e.g., "Nike," "Local Farm").

  • Collections: Add your product to one or more collections. Collections are curated groups like "New Arrivals" or "Summer Sale."

  • Tags: Add relevant keywords to your product (e.g., cotton, eco-friendly, gift). Tags are great for improving your store's search results.

Step 5: Configure Inventory and Shipping

Now, let's tell the system how much stock you have and how the product will be shipped.

Path: Products > Add Product > Inventory and Type & Shipping

  • Track quantity: In the Inventory section, make sure this toggle is switched on.

  • Locations: In the list of your store locations, enter the available quantity (stock count) for this product at each location.

  • SKU / Barcode (Optional): Enter a unique SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) or barcode if you use them for inventory tracking.

  • Type & Shipping:

    • Type: Select whether the product is Physical (requires shipping) or Digital (a downloadable file).

    • Weight: If the product is physical, enter its weight. This is crucial for calculating accurate shipping rates at checkout.

Step 6: Add Variants (If Needed)

Does your product come in different sizes, colors, or materials? If so, you need to add variants.

Path: Products > Add Product > Variants

  1. Click Add variant like color or size.

  2. Enter the Variant name (e.g., "Size") and the Variant values (e.g., "Small, Medium, Large").

  3. You can add more variant types if needed (e.g., "Color").

  4. The system will create all possible combinations. You can then set a specific price and inventory quantity for each unique variant.

If your product does not have different versions, you can skip this step.

Step 7: Make Your Product Live

You're almost done! The final step is to make your product visible to customers.

Path: Products > Add Product > (Right-hand Column)

  • Status: Change the status from "Draft" to Active. An active product is visible and can be purchased.

  • Sales channels: Ensure the Online store checkbox is checked. This makes the product appear on your website.

Step 8: Save Your Listing

Click the Save button in the top-right corner of the page.

Congratulations! You have successfully listed a new product for sale in your store. You can now view it on your live storefront or go back to the Products > Products page to list another item.
