Understanding the Realtime Dashboard Interface

The Realtime dashboard is composed of four main horizontal sections, each containing several data "cards." Here is how to interpret each part of the UI.

Section 1: The Live Overview

This top section is your primary summary of current store traffic.

  • Active Users in Last 30 Minutes Card:

    • UI Element: A large number on the left and a vertical bar graph on the right.

    • Functionality: The number represents the total count of unique visitors who have been on your site in the last 30 minutes. The graph visualizes this activity over that period, with each bar representing a specific minute, allowing you to see traffic peaks and lulls.

  • Active Users in Last 5 Minutes Card:

    • UI Element: A single large number.

    • Functionality: This provides the most immediate count of users currently active on your site.

  • New Customers vs. Returning Customers Card:

    • UI Element: A donut chart with a corresponding legend.

    • Functionality: This chart visually separates your active users into two segments: New customers (first-time visitors) and Returning customers (visitors who have been to your store before). The legend clarifies which color corresponds to each segment.

Section 2: Sessions

This section focuses on "sessions," where each session represents a single, continuous visit by a user.

  • Sessions Card (Main Counter):

    • UI Element: A large number indicating the total active sessions.

    • Functionality: This card provides the total count of individual browsing sessions currently happening on your store.

  • Breakdown Cards (Location, Device, OS, Browser):

    • UI Element: A series of cards, each with a title and a list of items with progress bars.

    • Functionality: These cards break down the total number of sessions by different attributes:

      • Sessions by Location: Shows the geographic origin of the sessions.

      • Sessions by Device: Displays whether sessions are on Desktop, Mobile, or Tablet.

      • Sessions by OS: Segments sessions by operating system (e.g., Windows, macOS).

      • Sessions by Browser: Segments sessions by the web browser used (e.g., Chrome, Safari).
The progress bar next to each item provides a quick visual representation of its share of the total.

Section 3: Views

This section tracks "views," where each view is a single page load. One session can have multiple views.

  • Views Card (Main Counter):

    • UI Element: A large number indicating the total page views.

    • Functionality: This card gives you the total count of pages that have been viewed by all active users recently.

  • Breakdown Cards (Top Views, Location, Device, etc.):

    • UI Element: A series of cards, similar in layout to the Sessions section.

    • Functionality:

      • Top Views: This is a critically important card. It displays a ranked list of the most frequently viewed pages on your store right now (e.g., Homepage, Account Download, Order Details). This helps you see which content is currently trending.

      • The other cards break down the total page views by Location, Device, OS, and Browser, providing deeper context on your traffic.

Section 4: Events

This section tracks "events," which are specific, important actions that users take on your site.

  • Events Card (Main Counter):

    • UI Element: A large number indicating the total events.

    • Functionality: This provides the total count of all actions that have occurred recently.

  • Breakdown Cards (Top Events, Location, Device, etc.):

    • UI Element: A series of cards, again similar in layout.

    • Functionality:

      • Top Events: This card gives you insight into the customer journey. It shows a ranked list of the most common actions users are performing, such as Page View, Checkout Initiated, Add To Cart, and Add To Wishlist. Monitoring this card is key to understanding purchase intent.

      • The other cards break down these events by Location, Device, OS, and Browser. For example, you can use the "Events by Device" card to see if more "Add To Cart" events are happening on mobile or desktop, helping you optimize your user experience.

Use Arrow Up and Arrow Down to select a turn, Enter to jump to it, and Escape to return to the chat.
